Team Liquidlogic Mellowin' Out on the Rogue River

Here's a trip I never posted photos from. Liquidlogic got on the Rogue River during some FANTASTIC weather and had the best river trip ever. Saw some BIG black bears, BIG ticks and BIG salmon. Fortunately the ticks were NOT on us and neither were the bears ;P

We opted for a purely rafting trip and left our kayaks behind...I know...crazy huh? Turned out to be the way to go. The river level was pretty low and we got the opportunity to row a friend's Puma. We are looking to invest in a raft and wanted to see what we thought of a smaller raft vs the larger rafts....conclusion- we want a bigger raft...Aire 15 footer. Heck yes!

Here's the highlights from the trip :) Enjoy and PLEASE call if you need extra paddlers...gear boaters :D

(Below) the jump rock was jumpable...unlike last time
(Below) My turn jumping!

Below) Breakfasts always tastes better on the Rogue! Josh cooks a MEAN breakfast :)
(Below) Check out my Newt! He was sooo cute!
Below) Mule Creek Canyon...a calm spot

This is my favorite river in the world to do a multi day on and I am living for my break this August when I can get back on the Rogue. Get out on your own trip and enjoy every minute!

Epic Afternoon in the Liquidlogic Biscuit!

If there's one thing I've learned from nursing school...it's DONT WASTE YOUR WEEKEND! Despite a thorougly disappointing weather forcast, Bob's hole on the Clackamas was IN! bob's has a pretty good habit of shifting around due to a loose riverbed but this time, we were all stoked at the feature. Did I mention there were only four of us there?

Sadly, due to the overall lack of playboating in the state of Oregon, the last playboating Josh and I did was in the ocean at Newport...which is a completely different type of playboating- more like "survival playboating". We got lots of sharks on the coast and we routinely see them when we are out paddling around. Not the most comforting but I'll challenge a shark with my whompin' ATX paddle any day!

So...Bob's was good for me to dust off the cobwebs and get back at it! Temps were in the 60's, it was a bluebird day...and following the sesh, we busted a move up to Bagby Hot Springs. Doesn't get much better than that!

The Biscuit 45 was Grrrrreat on Bob's. Not only was it loose and bouncy, but it was comfy as heck :) Thanks for making such a comfy playboat...I never thought the words 'comfy' and 'playboat' would be in the same sentence.

Here are some shots from the day....if you are headin' out there on the weekends, give me a call...I'm a weekend warrior at the moment!

Hope everyone is gettin' out and having fun! Tomorrow, I'm off to run the Upper Wind...woo hoo! Fluffy water!

Liquidlogic Team Dog-Pepper Salt Russell 1994-2009

Pepper Russell passed away on December 10th. She was very sick and we had to make the decision to let her be at peace. She was a river dog and loved going on kayaking trips. She traveled everywhere with my family. Many people treated her like their very own dog and for that reason, I feel the need to post this. We will all miss her smiling face at the put-in's and take-outs. We will miss her disgusting tennis ball in our laps, and we will most of all miss her unconditional love. Please remember all the good times we had with Pepper. She is at peace now.
